How AI-powered cart recovery works in Wisepops

Unlike traditional exit-intent triggers that rely on cursor movement, our new feature uses machine learning to predict cart abandonment in real-time based on actual visitor behavior.

Wisepops' onsite tracker monitors 10+ behavioral signals while visitors browse your site, including:

• Pages visited and navigation patterns

• Time spent on site and scroll depth

• Cart activity and session history

• Device type and location data

• Product browsing behavior

When the AI detects that a visitor with items in their cart is likely to abandon, it automatically triggers your recovery campaign—before they decide to leave.

Unlike email recovery flows that only work for identified visitors, AI-powered cart recovery can reach nearly all shoppers on your site, including anonymous visitors.

Setting up AI-powered cart recovery (Shopify only)

This feature is currently available exclusively for Shopify websites.

Here's how to set it up:

Step 1: Choose the template

Navigate to the Wisepops popup template gallery and select the Shopify category. Look for the "AI-powered cart recovery" template.

Don't see the Shopify category? Make sure you've completed all Shopify installation steps first.

Step 2: Verify your trigger

The campaign comes pre-configured with the AI-powered cart abandon trigger. This trigger leverages Wisebrain's machine learning model—no manual configuration needed.

Step 3: Customize your message

In the popup editor, personalize the first step of your campaign:

• Upload your brand logo

• Edit your offer (we suggest a 10% discount for completing checkout)

• Match your brand voice and design

Step 4: Add your discount

If you're offering a discount (recommended), select your Shopify discount code in step 2 of the campaign.

Step 5: Configure product recommendations

Customize the product recommendations block in the final step. By default, we suggest products that are frequently bought together by other visitors based on cart items. This creates an additional cross-selling opportunity while recovering the cart.
